Baillieston Juniors Academy POLICIES

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to create a safe, fun, and positive environment where children can learn football skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.

2. Safety

  • All coaches and volunteers must be PVG background-checked.

  • A first-aid kit must be available at all practices and matches.

  • Players must wear shin guards, proper footwear, and appropriate clothing.

  • No child may participate with injuries unless cleared by a parent/guardian.

  • Weather safety rules must be followed (heat, lightning, extreme cold).

3. Behaviour & Sportsmanship

  • Players must show respect to teammates, coaches, referees, and opponents.

  • Bullying, teasing, or rough play is not allowed.

  • Swearing, shouting, or aggressive behaviour is prohibited.

  • Winning is great, but effort and teamwork come first.

4. Attendance & Commitment

  • Players should attend practices regularly and arrive on time.

  • Parents must give advance notice if a player cannot attend.

  • Playing time will be equal

5. Parents & Spectators

  • Encourage players positively — no shouting instructions during matches.

  • Respect referees and coaches at all times.

  • Keep the sideline area safe and clear.

  • Use appropriate language; no arguing with officials.

6. Coaching Guidelines

  • Coaches must create a supportive, inclusive environment.

  • Training sessions should be age-appropriate, fun, and developmental.

  • All players should be given the chance to rotate positions.

  • Coaches should communicate clearly with parents about schedules and expectations.

7. Inclusion

  • The team welcomes players of all abilities, backgrounds, and experience levels.

  • Everyone gets the chance to play and improve.

  • No discrimination of any kind is tolerated.

8. Equipment & Uniforms

  • Players must take care of their team kit and gear.

  • Lost or damaged equipment should be replaced by parents.

  • All gear should be labelled with the player’s name.

9. Communication

  • Parents will receive weekly updates on schedules, games, and events.

  • Emergency changes (weather, cancellations) will be sent via group message.

10. Discipline

  4. Possible suspension for repeated issues
